How I embrace January

We are almost through January – the long dark nights, stormy cold weather and tighter finances can really pull us down.

Seeking refuge in my workshop I embrace January – using it as a time to reflect properly on the previous year and prepare for the coming one.

Doll orders are slower and the calm allows me to ease into each day, enjoying a slower pace after the busy period of midwinter and all that Christmas brings!

After my reflections a few firm intentions for 2025 have emerged; like fresh shoots out of the dark earth.

New website

To hopefully improve your experience of online shopping I will be switching over to using Shopify. This will be live around the end of March – I’ll give you a heads up nearer the time! If there is anything you would particularly like to see let me know.

Price increases

Unfortunately reviewing my figures from last year means I have to increase my prices by a little bit: constantly rising overheads and the cost of living forces my hand. I’ll be doing this on Friday (31st January 2025) so please feel free to pop an order in beforehand.

Time management

Finally in 2025 I am challenging myself to manage my time better – so I will be timing myself to see if I actually make my dolls in the time I think I do. I’m hoping this will make the workshop more productive and decrease my dilly dally time!

Have you had time to think about your upcoming year? I’d love to hear your reflections and any intentions.
